This session will be available to attend face-to-face in Sydney CBD (Rydges Sydney Central)

This session will be facilitated by Prof Apo Demirkol and Dr Vicki Hayes.

If attending in-person: We provide all required materials for the course on the day, including a course booklet and other resources, and providing morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

Attending remotely: We will mail out all course materials required for the day to your nominated mailing address, and you will interact with participants and facilitators using Zoom.

This course is suitable for general practitioners, other medical practitioners and nurse practitioners in NSW who are wanting to learn more about providing treatments for opioid dependence.

To be eligible to attend this session you MUST have completed the Fundamentals Training short-course prior to attending the webinar on the day.

Why complete the OTAC?

The OTAC is a full-day course facilitated by specialists who provide opioid treatment for opioid dependence that aligns with the NSW Clinical Guidelines: Treatment of Opioid Dependence.

The course is funded by the NSW Ministry of Health providing statewide education around opioid pharmacotherapies for opioid dependence.

Successful completion of this course will also allow you to progress towards accreditation to prescribe pharmacotherapies for the treatment of opioid dependence in NSW, including the opportunity to complete a clinical placement to gain hands-on experience.

If you are unable to attend the session on this day, you can be updated when new courses are announced. To ensure you are updated when other dates are announced, please create an OTAC account (visit: www.otac.org.au) and consider completing the Fundamental Training prerequisite short-course prior.

Do I need to attend for the whole day?

Yes, to meet the requirements of this accreditation course and to provide you a certificate of completion you MUST attend for the entire day. If extenuating circumstances require you to leave early or you foresee this prior to the the day, please contact the Course Coordinator.
